What we do
ECD Training
.
Funded by the Het Jan Marias Nationale Fonds, we provide Early Childhood Deveolopment (ECD) management and facilitators training to Educators.
Our training has two main focus areas:
1) Business management training provides ECD management with the skills to ensure that their ECD centre is financially sustainable.
2) Education training provides the facilitators with up to date knowledge about child development and how to facilitate learning that strategically addresses the developmental areas of a child.
Literacy
.
We are an official partner of WordWorks, through which we focus on literacy to unlock the future of at-risk children in communities around Stellenbosch.
The Stellumthombo Literacy Program continues to evolve yearly as we learn and adapt. We continue to see literacy as a driving factor in empowering children to unlock their full potential.
Due to worrying trends we saw over the last three years we have developed and implemented our own Gr R program to address the particular needs of the children in our partner schools.
Tertiary Study Aid
.
We provide mentorship and financial support to first-generation students.
Many first-generation students are overwhelmed and unequipped to make a success of their tertiary studies. Masandise aims to provide the necessary support to help these students overcome the hurdles that might get in their way.
Math Tutoring
.
Funded by the Jannie Mouton Stigting, we offer dedicated Maths and Science extra classes for High School learners.
Our annual Math Winterschool recently partnered with the Jannie Mouton Stigting and in the pursuit of a sustainable impact we now offer dedicated extra classes in Maths and Science Monday to Thursday during the school term.
The aim of this project is to excel leaners’ Math and Science ability in order to qualify for tertiary studies at an University.
